𪝠You may not control the outcome, but you can always cover it in prayer.

đScripture
Lamentations 2:19
âPour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your childrenâŚâ
â¨Devotional Thought
God desires that we raise mature and responsible children, but that responsibility goes beyond simply taking them to church.
We are called to teach them Godâs waysâto pray with them, pray for them, and pray in front of them. A praying mother models a life of faith, not just a routine of religion.
Prayer is how we invite God into every part of our childrenâs lives. It is how we cover what we cannot see, protect what we cannot control, and trust God with what we cannot fix. When we pray, we are not just speaking wordsâwe are building a spiritual foundation that will carry them long after they leave our homes.
We cannot force our children to choose God, but we can create an environment where His presence is known. It is better for them to develop a genuine relationship with Him than to rely on the false security that attendance equals salvation.
Teaching our children to pray does not require perfect wordsâit requires consistency and authenticity. Let them hear you pray in real moments, not just structured ones. Pray when you are grateful. Pray when you are uncertain. Pray when you are overwhelmed. Let them see that prayer is not just something you doâit is how you live.
Encourage them to talk to God in their own words. Remind them that they can come to Him about anythingâbig or small, joyful or difficult. When they struggle, guide them. When they forget, remind them. When they pray, affirm them.
Over time, what begins as imitation becomes personal conviction.
Prayer becomes the covering when control is no longer possible.
âđ˝Challenge
This week, intentionally pray over your child every dayâout loud, by name, and with purpose. Even if they are not present, speak life, protection, and purpose over them.
đđ˝Prayer
Father God,
I release my children into Your hands. Teach me to cover them in prayer instead of trying to control every outcome. Strengthen my faith so I trust You with their future, their decisions, and their hearts. Let my life model what it means to walk with You. May my prayers become a covering that follows them wherever they go.
In Jesusâ name, Amen.
