đŞťCommit every plan to God, pause before you proceed, and trust Him to establish what truly belongs in your life.

đScripture
Proverbs 16:3
âCommit to the Lord whatever you do and he will establish your plans.â
â¨Devotional Thought
Have you ever dived headfirst into something without consulting God first? You thought you had a good ideaâsomething youâd always wanted to doâso you went ahead and put it into action. You created a planning calendar, did your research, and even purchased materials. But once you began, you realized it was going nowhere. And maybe that was because you didnât commit your plans to the Lord first. You thought you knew it all and had everything together, only to watch it collapse. Or maybe your good idea never happened at all because too many other things got in the way.
But when we seek God first and ask Him for help and guidance with our plans, then weâre starting off right.
Perhaps you believed you heard something from God and ran ahead before the full plan was revealed. You heard one thing, and because it aligned with what you already wanted, you took offâand never paused long enough to ask God if this truly was what He intended for you to be doing.
No matter how small our plans are, we should commit them to God and pray over them first to ensure that we are aligned with His will for our lives. Each morning I pray that God will cover my plansâbut only if they align with His will and purpose. And if they donât, I ask Him to allow them to fall by the wayside.
Nehemiah is one person in the Bible who understood the power of prayer before planning, and it served him well. He fasted and prayed before speaking to the king and before rebuilding the wall. Have you ever considered how much easier life would be if we fasted and prayed before making life-altering decisions? After all, God is the Creator of our lives, so He knows far better than we do what our lives should be about.
âđ˝Challenge
Choose one plan this weekâbig or smallâand bring it to God before you take a single step. Pray over it, write it down, and wait for His peace before you move. If you donât feel clarity yet, donât force it. Practice pausing, listening, and letting God lead.
đđ˝Prayer
Father, I surrender every plan, dream, and idea into Your hands. If it is not Your will, let it fall away. If it is Your purpose for my life, order my steps and make the path clear. Teach me to slow down, seek You first, and trust Your timing. Give me wisdom like Nehemiahâwisdom that begins with prayer. Align my heart with Your will, and let everything I do bring You glory. In Jesusâ name, Amen.
